After Dinner Speakers: Nick Nairn, David Pearce, Steven Seagal
Nick Nairn is one of Scotland's most exciting cookery talents. A self-taught chef (he came into cookery by accident), his determination to master the culinary arts has resulted in the creation of two highly successful restaurants, one near Aberfoyle and the other Nairn's in Glasgow. In 1990, he became the youngest chef to win a Michelin star in Scotland.
His unflagging energy and distinctive style of cooking have ensured the popularity of his television and radio appearances. He has presented three BBC cookery series of his own, all with accompanying books, and he also contributes a column to the Scottish Sunday Mail.
He is a founder member and is on the advisory board of the Scottish Chef's Association, which aims to promote Scottish cooking and to encourage young emerging talent, as well as an enthusiastic campaigner for fresh Scottish produce. And, as if he's not busy enough, he also owns Nairn's Cookery School and a catering business.
