Jeff Banks, famous designer was born in Wales in 1943. He trained as a painter and studied textiles at St Martin's School of Art.
His first opportunity to promote his own designs came when running the Clobber boutique between 1964 and 1974 In the 1970s he became widely known when he launched the Warehouse chain and continued in the 1980s with the mail order firm Warehouse Utility Clothing.
Now he has his own label and design licenses. A great supporter of the British fashion industry, he was the instigator and presenter of the first mainstream fashion programme on British television, The Clothes Show.
